Just a reminder to please keep the conversation friendly. I totally agree that someone being dishonest and skipping out on a pre-arranged trade is lame, I wouldn't want to see this thread turn into a witch hunt or an excuse to harass players. We know that the current gift system isn't secure (see the post here (http://www.spacetimestudios.com/showthread.php?1044-WARNING!-Trade-is-about-trust!-You-can-currently-only-give-with-no-secure-swap.)) for trading. Expect a secure way to trade in the future.

I've got a load if stuff I will give to friends but I haven't once used this GIFTING system. People have given me stuff. Keep ya epics until secure trade comes or even an auction house. The Internet is filled with scammers don't trade just give. Don't expect to receive anything in retun, that's why it's gifting 1 way trade. V1.2 will be out soon guys. It's just really annoying on every second thread on here is someone being ripped off, hold off until the next version because we will probably be able to sell for gold which will be cool.

The good thing about this system is that when your on a quest and recieve an item which you can't use you can give it to someone that can.

I'm all for protecting ppl from being scammed but half the players or more don't read the forums. IMO, these types of threads should be on private guild forums not on the official PL forums. If there are complaints, why not email/pm them to the devs privately?

Yes, but SOME people come to forums like people posting on the threads because more legit people would come here, and instead of getting scammed we'd rather know who we are trading, too bad to people who don't come to the forums. I hope they will one day check it out and see the advantages.

I believe this trade should be used for "hey, I got this in a dungeon do you want it?" not "hey trade me your bow for mine." Wait for secure trades. After the new maps come out, the current high level items won't be as good. No point in rushing a possible scam.

I read these forums every day but a player should not have to read the forums for this game. Every warning should be in the game itself. Most people want to play not read forums. Yes, those really addicted to PL want to play & read the forums to soak up as much PL info as possible. But if you're just playing, I agree there should be a warning in game until 1.2 comes out. You shouldn't say "too bad to people who don't come to the forums". Some of these ppl contribute financially to PL and you don't want to exclude ppl because they don't log onto the forums. Not every is a forum reader.

Got scammed today by Deathwar, also has a character named Kyrawarr. Said they had the Conquerer's frozen shield, traded a Dreamer's Bone Staff for it, and yea, no shield lol. Oy Vey! They even added me as a friend, but later removed me. My own fault really, just such a bummer to have lost such a great item :(.

I don't see the problem.. If you are afraid, or don't want to loose something, then don't "give" it away. If you need the item wait till 1.2, or farm it. The drop rates for decent items has been increased in the lost expedition. If you cannot go into the lost expedition then you more than likely didn't loose any weapon or armor of value.

You just cannot trust everyone. This proves it. Just quit "giving" your items away and all will be happy.

The button says GIVE not TRADE, so until it becomes secure and makes it safe..you got exactly what was coming to you. Saying don't trust this guy and that doesn't help lol you GAVE it to them according to the game. STOP doing it till it becomes secure and threads lIke this don't have to waste time. Bad call on my part, and I just wanted to get his name out here in case it might help someone else in the future (I did try searching to see if he was mentioned in the forums before the exchange).

Anyway, yeah, don't trade with Chrisgta. In fact if any fellow mages are sympathetic and see him in game, please refrain from healing or resurrecting him :)

In my case it ended up being an example of how the really awesome part of the community (the big part), more than makes up for the losers. Later I was in town and met a couple of players who are regular contributers to these forums as well as all around cool people (Edit: I removed their names so a search for them would not return this thread). Like so many people in the PL world, they just handed me gear that I could use and they no longer needed, without being asked or looking for anything in return. So not only did I wind up with my cloth, but I also got the matching staff :)

If you agree to purchase a burger at a restaurant, then you are expected to pay, and you expect to get a burger. This is clearly not a 'secure' trade; there is nothing keeping either party from running off with money or burger (except laws, you say? Nay, I live outside the law). Despite this not being a secure transaction most people would probably be pretty outraged when they were denied a burger. Their reaction would not be: "oh well, it wasn't secure, I deserved this." They would be pissed off. It should be pretty clear why people are reacting the way they do. There are basic guidelines for how we are supposed to treat other people, and when others don't follow the guidelines, we get real mad. Like hornets. Mad hornets. Thank you for your time.

Lol yes sorry, i tend to get mad at things that ppl take way to serious about a game...a game....i just don't get it..I understand our times make computers the thing to do, but why make it so serious that you actually have to get that mad ( i understand drop rates i do, but it's not that serious). Yes ive played console games that made me throw my controller across the room, but i didn't go to the game forums and make it a issue, and the issue on this game right now shouldn't be one, because its not even really called trade..it's not trading at all. I know what ppl have told me "it's our right to speak out, we are mad, it shouldn't happen, we have a right to say this, blah blah" but do you remember your just playing a game?
