rarity of an item

How do you know if an item is, indeed, a rare item? I know that I've seen a number of posts here state that an item is extremely rare. I do know that some of the rare items are listed in some of Yanis' threads but is that the only way to tell?

1) Try searching the item in the CS. If there aren't many, or are a few at high prices, then you may have a rare item.

2) Search the forums. Use the search function to try and find your item. You never know, there may already be a thread asking your same question about the very same item.

3) Ask. There is always the simple method of asking. Make a thread asking about the item. There is bound to be at least one person who knows the rarity.

Thanks :) I have a couple of items I never seem to find in the CS but I never know if it's because they are so common that no one bothers selling them or if it's because they're rare. I was planning on putting together a post, just wondering if there's some other way of knowing other than having a good memory (I can't even remember what I had for breakfast) and/or really watching the market/drops.

Put up a post asking to BUY the item you have. If you don't get any responses then it's rare :-) if you do get responses just reply to them all apologising and say u got one in CS already and you will have an idea of what it's worth cos ppl will tell u how much they want for theirs :-)

Just do a price check on forums... much faster.

also just extending on this make sure you check the date of the message if its from maybe 2 months ago the value may have decreased if its recent then the value will be around the same. (new items are worth LOADS)

One in particular is the alien staff of fate level 47. I've seen 45 and 50 but not 47...

I also have a trickster's wing of fortune level 47 and 49

Those are mid-scaled ao3 pinks, the 45 versions are a bit more. The 47 versions aren't worth much at all, Not sure about the 49 versions I imagine they aren't so rare either

I think you can get 10-20k for the pink 47/49s. Really depends on who needs them...

If you see a cool item and you can't find it in the Consignment shop, it's either:

1) No one would want to sell it or
2) It's an item from a quest (you can't trade those)
