The current Mythic weapons should still be the best of their kind in this next...

I am not aware of plans to update, or have an update path, for any other items than the Mythic Helm and Mythic Armor.

As I understand it, yes there is a plan to have characters that have acquired the previous Mythic Helm and Mythic Armor to have a means to upgrade them to level 36 items.
