In Elite Caves of Tarewa, cocoons are left behind even after you break out of them. My skills and auto-attack aim at the cocoon rather than the Arachna boss. I understand that we are meant to hit the cocoons when party members are trapped inside, but once they are freed, those cocoons need to go.
And, what makes even less sense is how our pets seem so agitated by them. If you are anywhere even close to a cocoon, it must be an aggro black hole, because the pets don't seem to notice the giant spider walking next to them that is spitting poison everywhere and one-hitting squishies.
I have seen this as well, the cocoons remain after the player has been released. It's a targeting issue and fuddles up the fight a bit.
