8 Active Skills * 6 Ranks per Skill = Level 49 Max? Is this the Cap?

Ok... I know that this is kinda far off. We're about to hit 30/31. I was just curious what will happen in the future...

If you can only have 8 skills active (castable) at a time, and skills are limited to 6 ranks, if you reach lv 49 (8*6+1), you will have maximized every skill that you have active. At level 50, you'll be spending skill points on skills you can't have active.

I have no experience with PL, so I don't know what was done in the past (or if this was even a problem). Maybe some of you can help fill me in?

1. Will STS increase the skill rank maximums?
2. Will STS increase the number of skills you can have active?
3. Will STS instead add some passive skills that do not require an activation slot?

It used to be 5 max skill points per skill in PL. So 5 max points x 12 skills = 60 cap, then they changed it to 6 max points per skill.

My guess, increase to 7 :p

Pretty much spot on buddy,

If either 1, 2 or 3 options are picked we would only be guessing not able to give a accurate answer, but in the past PL upped the skill points by 1, also being able to have all 12 skills on screen at once helped so these would always be active.

My guess is 1 and 2, but unsure if people would agree on having to scroll through each window of skills, and I doubt people would agree on having the skills menu take up 1/4 of the sceen as it done/has done in the past.

The idea of passive skills sounds great to me, like a skill that takes away 1m/s at lv 1 and it takes one more per second, but you do like +2dmg or something

Dont' worry they will address this when the time comes, I mean it is STS after all :)
I kinda hope the skills arent just upped one as Ill just make all of my skills one better and not feel like I really improved. Maybe increase them to 9? That way we can further specialize instead of just increasing our regular skills in a generalized manner.

I also really like the passive skill idea. That would be new for STS.

Yes i can think of a few options off the top of my head so i could only assume that sts has thought this out.

Increase skill rank to 7 8 or 9,
Add another page of skills so we have 3 to scroll through ( would personally hate this)
Add more skills on the screen at once. Like Pl, or maybe 2 pages of 8.
Passive skills.

Passive skills... I like that idea! Unfortunately my gut tells me that the intent is to increase skill max ranks like has been done on PL.
