Tiers in Egg Hunt

Can a dev confirm if tiers help in egg hunt or not? Like do they help people in getting better chance at the purple and platinum eggs ?

I am getting a mixed response from everyone. I think tiers do help because the event has a top bar like all energy events which has bosses whereas this one just has eggs instead. So better tier should help us get a better chance at last two eggs. But a dev confirming would be awesome!
