Entries so far are looking good! C'mon--you guys that haven't entered, channel your inner John Donne and get a haiku (or two!) up. With all you creative types, this thread should be dozens of pages long by the deadline. :D
just curious, what's the rule on words like "you're" that are one syllable when said, but are actually 2 syllables when the words are separated? My vote is for then being 2 syllables, and you can't use contractions (like can't, hehe!)
For this contest I'll let words such as "You're" or "I'll" pass as one syllable when said and you can also use contractions. I didn't distinguish those rules at the beginning of the contest and adding them late in the contest would be unfair. For future contests I will definitely keep this in mind. Hope you're not too disappointed Kahlua!
Also another Prize Update! Platinum has been added thanks to the STS Dev Team so get your entries in!
What? "You're" and "I'll", while contractions, are also words in and of themselves. No special rules need be implemented.

Yes but in any formal forms of writing, contractions are supposed to be written out as the two words.
This is a formal contest, especially by the addition of platinum as a reward, and the question needed to be asked.
His contest - his rules, not yours :)
@rodvik - hah I'm fine with that, I wasn't going to use one but now I will, and I think only Ebalere did anyways, and he could have just removed "bro" and it would have worked fine.
Very true DP, but Kahlua made a good point. As they are words in themselves and are only 1 syllable, broken up they are two. So clarifying was not a problem...lol
Like I said though I didn't say you couldn't use contractions in the rules so they are free game.

Very well laid out. I will see what I can come up with.
Please let your guild know about the contest if you havent already. I know alot of people play the game but don't really participate on the forums that often. Granted I know the more entries the tougher the chances to win..lol but I would like to get as many participants playing as possible =D Thats why I created this specific contest to begin with because it was whole community friendly =D as opposed to a screenshot contest where only a select few could play.
Please pass the word around! Ive been randomly pming people in game letting them know about it and to pass the word around. =D
@ghastly lol, I never would've guessed dinosaur. 8)

added my second haiku to my original post :) check it out!
Ahhh didn't even think of that...I would assume no, because it's different from contractions where you say You Are as You're...lol is still said as laugh out loud...because it's an abbreviation. Something like "lawl" would work if we had to include this because it's not really a word, more slang really...but generally means the same thing.
Don't take this as me taking over your contest Rodvik, just posting suggestions :) I already have my two entries in and won't be changing them no matter what happens.
I think lol
Should count as three syllables
