As I mentioned in a previous thread, those players who choose to invest in their avatar should reap the benefits of said investment. Just as in console games, you purchase the DLC to have better armor, better weapons, better stats, etc. Same principle here. You buy the plat, thusly keeping SS solvent and profitable. In return as "proxy investors" you get the better loot and a stronger avatar.
