When Will Star Legends Launch? - Currently Working with Apple for App Approval

A lot of people have been asking when exactly Star Legends: The Blackstar Chronicles will launch and we want to give you all an update. As you know, we always launch simultaneously to all of our channels (Apple App Store, Android Marketplace, GetJar). We submitted to Apple for approval on July 11th (Link here). Usually, with Pocket Legends, we usually get approval or rejection from Apple in about 1 to 2 weeks. We are working with Apple now with the submission.

All of that means that it could still be several days or next week before everything is approved and Star Legends launches.

We are very excited to get Star Legends into the hands of everyone who wants to play it. We will post here further when more information becomes available. Thanks as always for your support - Spacetime Studios Games' wouldn't be anything without you, our fans!

Well apple takes stinking forever to approve apps...

So let me get this straight...the beta ends tomorrow then the beta testers have to wait till the full version comes out?

The V CAST Beta will not end tomorrow. Hopefully everything will come together and the game will go into full launch on all channels. It could still happen - just not as likely at this juncture.

So we still getbto play beta till the full launch?

Well... im not sure what to think about this... I really don't know... I cant play PL much cause nothing new is out yet and if i read this correctly the app could be several days to a week before its approved to apple? What if it isnt approved by apple..? And why are android users getting mad? Atleast you have the game right? Im stuck bored so please dont ask for beta to be out or apple users will be lvl 1 while you are level 20+...

Agreed. Thank you for keeping us informed and yes I'm TRYING, I am really am TRYING, to not get mad at Apple. Lol

He said "We are working with Apple now with the submission." In other words, PL came to the top of the queue.

Apple reviews thousands of apps every day. I had the number somewhere as well as the number of testers. It comes down to about 40 minutes. Most good apps are approved right away. Most of the time waiting is because they are strictly first-come first-served. That's how long it takes to come up for review after you submitted it!

Here's a recent summary of what they are trying to weed out.

Apps that duplicate apps already in the App Store may be rejected, particularly if there are many of them

Apps that are not very useful or do not provide any lasting entertainment value may be rejected

Apps may contain or quote religious text provided the quotes or translations are accurate and not misleading. Commentary should be educational or informative rather than inflammatory

Apps that misspell Apple product names in their app name (i.e., GPS for Iphone, iTunz) will be rejected


Bandwidth:

Audio streaming content over a cellular network may not use more than 5MB over 5 minutes

Video streaming content over a cellular network longer than 10 minutes must use HTTP Live Streaming and include a baseline 64 kbps audio-only HTTP Live stream

Apps that excessively use the network capacity or bandwidth of the APN service or unduly burden a device with Push Notifications will be rejected


Privacy:

Apps that do not notify and obtain user consent before collecting, transmitting, or using location data will be rejected

Apps cannot transmit data about a user without obtaining the user's prior permission and providing the user with access to information about how and where the data will be used

Apps that require users to share personal information, such as email address and date of birth, in order to function will be rejected

Apps that target minors for data collection will be rejected

Gotta say, I hate apple right now. I want the game to launch already but apple's overly strict rules mess up the fun for everybody when it comes to games like this that are open to multiple providers.

Don't you guys understand what Sam was saying? This is GOOD NEWS. Most of the time in the approval process is waiting for your turn in the queue. SL has finally come to the top of the queue. That means, if it passes (and why wouldn't it?), that it won't be much longer to wait. But he can't say "it will be very, very soon" because that could jinx it. So he had to say "it could be several days or a week". Read between the lines. This is cause for celebration.

And p.s. Android users got to beta test, so stop hating on Apple.

p.p.s. dated March 5th, discusses Malware in apps when not tested!!!

BTW not all Droid users got beta.

I'm a Droid user and i'm waiting impatiently for it to come out.. :/ *sigh* i think i'mma, go sleep till it comes out :)
