There were lots of complaints about its previous location, with people accidentally opening more than they intended from tapping through, so no. Feel free discuss here and try to get people to come to some consensus that you're all happy with.

On mobile the placement is better than before, on PC the distance is quite far especially playing fullscreen on a bigger monitor. I guess spamming "esc" works as pressing "x", Ill give it a try.
If by 'skip all' you mean when doing an 'open all' - that's coming in the next app update.
