Its very hard to look for the portal.Especially on my lvl 17 and 14.I have spent 2 hours just to look for the portal by killing mobs.Cant you guys make things simple like you go through the portal on the town and choose which map you wanna go and pay the energy like usual?Looking for the portal to spawn is just ridiculous.
Try tombs
Try grinding Jarl, one portal every 2-3 runs
While farming the Gold Mine I got 3 portals all next to one another from same mob. Maybe try there? They show up there a lot for me.

its not hard. whats hard is you have to use plats to get into more portals
we almost get 1 every 5 mins, try getting into a hunting guild.

Farming Portals is very very very easy I did 19 runs Of Gold Mine and got 18 portals Do gold Mine easiest Place
Try at the brackenridge as someone suggested, you'll have one in no time.
Definitely try the least hardest maps and you'll probably run like a breeze
Have fun blowing your plat/gold
Just find a portal and ask ur frnd to go afk in that dungeon, keep joining him again and again and exploit ur way to top
