I've tried a few builds since I wrote this thread [10 levels later] and found that 5 beckon and 4 stomp is perfect, at least for my current skill level with tanking.

Just wondering why so many attack bears use bows instead of 2handers. I am level 48 and so far, the 2handers give me about the same skill damage as a comparable bow, but way better normal attack...
