If the bird is wearing vanity, its not an instant kill. because of the vanity bonus.
if it is just a 65-66 birds wearing fang vanity, it posible to kill it using 2 skills. tried couple of times, and...

you can kill full dex birds in a matter of 1-2 sec, using 2 skills only. without using the shield. not unless your skill was dodged.
