PvE: HP (str) or Dodge (dex)?

Hi all,

I am a Rogue currently at level 17. Question about stats distribution in PvE; I see a lot of Rogues here and in-game that have very high DEX, and just generally advising to go max DEX. I've seen Rogues at my level with up to 200 DEX, making their HP and mana pool kind of low, but making up for dodge and damage. I think at around 200 DEX that gives about 17-20% dodge. My current stats are 56 STR, 97 DEX and 87 INT. So my dodge is only about 10%, but 1447 HP.

What would you say is a good balance? I just starting doing Dead City and some bosses in there are tough, the DOTs they put on you can kill me in 2-3 ticks if I don't eat a med pack in time. So I must imagine Rogues with lower HP pool have it even tougher.

Any Rogues care to share their experiences?

It gives only one good way. Put all points you have into Dex. If you need mana, use a pot. If you need more life for Boss fights buy a second equip with much Str.

In this Game its normal that you need a lot of mana/HP Pots.

Rogues best defense is to kill the enemy extreme fast and your are not able to do this with a mixed build. You should do a respecc and going full Dex.

I think at endgame nobody will do some Elite Maps with you and your build, because your will do less damage than a tank.

At level 21 i had well over 10k kills and with 0 deaths, the best way to distribute your stat points is 4 DEX, and 2 STR, if you need mana, just put some points in the mana passive, it's simple really, i would highly recommend those stat points distribution, i'm a pro rogue and i know what i am doing.

I went with full DEX after respeccing. Currently at level 30 this is what I have:

STR 30 (1882 HP)
DEX 364 (Bonus dmg 282%, Dodge 40.16%, Crit 15.35%, Dmg 174.4)
INT 73 (855 Mana)
DPS 313.8
Armor 728

I am really liking this setup. Have passive high dodge rate, combined with Razor Shield that's 60% dodge. And I am still using some lv 25-26 legendaries, since I am waiting to get 31.
