every device can't take screen shot, if the the device does not support it, then no app can do that (need root access or PC otherwise)

I think every Android device can take screenshot without rooting. At least every version 2.2+ device can.

^ nope its android version 4+ unless the device supports it. means the device have to support it for <4 versions otherwise every android 4+ take screenshots

You can mostly take screenies on androids, but you'll need to press your (ON/OFF) button at the same time with your (HOME) button, that's usually the case when ur Android has Playstore, oh this is the same for Apple products such as Ipod and Ipad.

All LG, Htc and Samsung devices support screenshot apps. Not sure about Motorola, Huawei, Asus, Acer, Alcatel, Cherry mobile, Sony, Sony-Ericson, Lenovo, Zte, etc. not so common Android device manufacturers, but I'm pretty sure most of them support screenshot apps anyway.

yep that's what I meant, if the manufacturer support taking screen shots, then it would be OS independent. if its not then appreciate OS version required for android.
