How do you get the angel set? my highest character is only level 48.
You only got one Veteran set per account.
It was awarded during the 71 cap as a reward for those who capped the last cap (lv. 66) or supported STS with spending $50 in Plat.
I think the Gratitude armor would be more apreciated.

That would be unreliable. Some people don't register accounts immediately (like me). I started up to 13 during the 2010 winterfest but my registration date is in August.
I believe this post, which is probably one of my favorites, will explain why it is incredibly "risky" for anything "time/experience-exclusive" to be implemented:
Notice how recently the Elite Vanity cap bonus became accessible to all (anyone can now cap three times and obtain the ring).
The whole exclusive nature of the Founder's Helm has, and is still, unarguably, one of the most heated discussions in the whole game.
Despite its meager boost, the Founder's Helm still sparked a heated argument over unfair advantages between those who had it and those who didn't during twink levels.
The Founder's Helm is now the only item that gives an extra advantage to a character that cannot ever be obtained again and cannot be replaced/superseded (the Angel items were also given out exclusively, but there are always better gear options at higher levels).
With that exclusiveness, people in this game and in reality often act with an ego or superiority, and that is what STS wants to avoid.
That ego is often brandished in the form of exclusive items but even further elevated with a PHYSICAL bonus that everyone is forced to acknowledge when PvPing against the person- a minor boost in stats.
While the Veteran items were added as a hallmark of devotion/time spent in the game, anyone who reaches that several month checkpoint is eligible to receive them in his or her stash.
Thus, that is why STS finds it best to just avoid implementing anything that might uproot the fairness/equality for each player.
If founder stuff cause so much "heat" because of its stats, why not make a founder (or gratitude) armor WITHOUT stats? So its just for looks? No set bonus, no stats= no arguments
That is what I meant, to have just the look not the stats.
Sadly, even the idea of "looks" is not liked much.
Stuff like the Elite Cap Vanities seem okay, but Veteran or other items that directly suggest superiority in playing time or dedication are taboo.
But yes, you are correct.
I know for a fact that the Shield of Gratitude originally gave stats as a Pink Equipment item, but was shortly nerfed and turned into a vanity.
I also believe one of the shields (PL or GoA) had a stat bonus as well, but that was also removed.
At least we can always count on STS for more of those little, trivial Festival Vanity hats.
I think we can compare founders and angel set to the elite cap vanities. Ok sure some people(high and low lvls) think with angel gear or a founders helm, they are (hmm..what's the word) "cooler"? Than other players, BUT the same goes for some people with elite items. Elite items give stats (always more than founders helm will ever give) and (eventhough there are a few cap people I know that are nice) sometimes I come across an "elite" who sometimes thinks that they are better than everyone else (like some people with founders) and ignores other people.
Btw, there's probably no "moral of the story"
