How essential is Luck Elixer for Locked drops?

The title says it all, actually.

So I was just wondering about the fact that I have never gotten a Locked Crate from any boss or anything while not under the effect of the Luck Elixer.

I was wearing the Luck Amulet (Leppy) which gives a 15% loot re-roll chance all the time I was farming, and never have gotten even one Locked crate without being under the effect of a Luck Elixer. However, under the effects of a 30 minute Luck Lix, I normally manage to get about 3-4 crates on average within the 30 mins (farming Jarl)

So my question is, have any of you gotten a Locked Crate without a Luck Elixer and just having a Lucky Amulet on? Or better yet, is there a chance to roll a Locked Crate even without having a Lucky Amulet on?

Hi! I've been using a Leppy for several weeks and I've been able to get 3 crates with it. I got two when I farmed Jarl and another when I hit Sully at Windmore Harbor. 3 crates farming 1.5 hours a day on weekdays and 3 hours a day during the weekend. It is certainly less reliable than a Luck Elix but a Leppy+Luck Elix combo is somewhat better than just a Luck Elix (but not by much).

I have managed to get locked crates even without the amulet or elixir. This happened a few times in the WT and once in Mt. Spyr.

I just got a Locked by Sully when I was just wearing a Leppy. So I guess the Luck lix isn't essential after all.

Do various bosses have various chances of dropping the Locked Crate?
For example, would Sully have a better rate than Jarl?

In my experience, Sully gives more locked crates than Jarl. I don' think we can consider it conclusive though.

I got many locked with just amulet lucky (jarl,km3)
And yes! I got malison with just amulet too.

I'm yet to unlock KM (Yes, I'm a massive noob who spends half of his time farming Jarl cause I like Locked Crates.)
I heard they do have significantly better chances of dropping Locked Crates, though.

Just wanted to say that I just got a Locked Crate from Jarl without any effect of a Luck Elixer or Leppy.
So I guess, Locked Crates drop regardless whether loot re-rolls occur or not.

nay... from my experience, reroll chances the upgrade from common drops to be rare, rare to be epic, epic to be legendary.... so the game is to ignite that chance, and therefore, 15+25% will gave you an easy time to trigger that chances

Its definitely random IMO.

One time I had luck elixirs for the 30 min and NO CRATES, but then when i had no luck elixir, I had a total of 3 crates drop, from separate runs after. Funny how things work.

Very! Recieved 12 crates from km3 yesterday, all but 2 we re rolled.

Just did some KM3 runs and got a 2 Locked Crates, I was wearing Leppy while running but both times it didn't show the message in yellow that it the drop was re-rolled.
So I guess I got another randomly lucky break and got Crates without re-rolling? Or is the text simply messed up, I wonder.

I've had mine for about 2 weeks and I get at least one day and I lend it to my wife to use and she has better luck than I do with it. So yes it works. As far as crates with no luck buff at all, I have scored one of a random mob once only.

One crate every day on average with Leppy on?
Is this from random killing or farming? Or a mixture of both?

I think twice I've gotten a locked crate without a luck elixir, both times in KM3. I think the drop rate of crates at Jarl is lower, so most likely you will need some sort of luck enhancement. I usually use the luck elixir and the amulet together since they stack.

Got a few without any luck. With leap ammy or a re roll elix I've got em from bosses, mob, even those breakable boxes and barrels

Now I'm certain that the Luck Elixer is only an enhancement to gain Locked Crates, earlier I was so sure that I absolutely needed to be on an lix to get a Crate drop. >.<
My inexperience, I suppose. :/

I, when using the leprechaun amulet got the malison egg on my second run of Elite Bael, and got 6 crates in one day just using the amulet. I also, when farming Kraken Mines, once got a locked crate from a mob, I didn't have a luck elixir nor did I have the leprechaun amulet on. Thanks for reading, enjoy the rest of your day! ;D

Did you get the 6 crates at Elite Rooks Nest? (Elite Bael)?
Yes, I've also observed quite a lot of people getting Crates from the mobs in KM3.
