Need Endgame Mage Help

Recently, I've decided to try endgame again. My pure int mage has alot of trouble with birds. Even warbirds kill me with blast blind repulse. Bears take out all of my mana with beckon stomp sms, timing my shield just leaves me dead. I dont have time to land debuffs, so I just maxed all my offensive skills, including Icestorm. Not much improvement besides the lucky fire that one hit birds. I've considered switching to a savage pally but that means I would farm alot slower by myself. I'm just looking for a few tips on how to beat birds(Ive given up on bears) and whether I should respec to a pally instead

Try drain fire, either one gets dodged... Gf. Best option is use a bird or bear. The int set is just terrible this cap. No way around it.

It's almost impossible trying int mage in endgame since u die so easy and fast, it's like free kills to the birds.

U could try:
Fire,mana,drain,ice,

U should try kiting with this combo

If you dont have any elite rings I can only advise you to go pally. Int doesnt stand much of a chance at 1v1s (except against other intmages and/or noobs), and ctf&ffa also gets frustrating (dying from blast aoes or a single firestorm). With elites intmages are somewhat more viable.

If you stick with int tho, I'd recommend taking the points off icestorm and maxing manashield. If you go pally put them into nightmare.

Sorry, ment to say fire drain. And of course kite. If your close enough for lightning to land you are most likely laying on the ground dead.

First and foremost suggestions would be - switch to str gear.

though in oppose to many others I think good int mages can survive this cap but then u have to be more dependant on range cause this new generation of elite bow birds depends on their opness and suck at this. second thing is, in general mages always have advantage over birds in few way.

Use the Elite staff, I do, and my KD is still positive haha. Tho not as much so as from the 66 cap 0_o. But I love pure mage and that's just how the cookie crumbles.
