Shield and curse. No doubt about it. That point of curse is to make enemies hit you. And when you have 5k+ hp, theyll be hitting you for a longgg time.. Additionally curse is meant for outlasting your opponents. Shield + curse are just made for each other with a synergetic combo of increasing your survivalbility and contesting it against opponents. Lifegiver would be icing on the cake, however limited due to low damage. For the fourth skill i'd either suggest fireball for its sorc staple stun, or gale force, which i'd recommend you only charge for that aoe stun and armor buff (to make you even more tanky :P )

    4/5 Shield- all but knockback
2/5 Heal- heal & mana. increased range optional

    passives 5/5 armor, 5/5 dex, 5/5str

The only problem is mages don't have a taunt. With such low damage & dps, you won't be able to hold aggro

^ this was the only "non-noob" reply.
The only difference I either use knockdown on fireball because this is a "support" build and the knockdown helps.
You aren't using this build for kills hence the reason you don't worry about the conflict with your curse though.
Also having all the extra stuff on fire doesn't help much sense the intel is so low
I am impressed you were able to gather the proper conclusion to make the build work through all the other non sense.
    Great job.

And yeah some people gonna say all depends on play style blah blah blah. Yeah I know wutevs :P

Iacito made a good point about wind also. The armor boost does help in place of fireball. But with low intel anything used for damage is pointless other than curse since it not effected by intel.
