Sooo.. Everything anyone says is trolling? disagreeing is trolling? "needs thread lock" is trolling? I mean.. tbh, dont we all break this rule 10x a day....? i mean... we'd have to be prettyyyy high not to do any of this....-.- Im confused.. my mind hurts....

Meh, I don't think much of the posted definition of trolling (which is in no way meant to be infammatory). Trolls usually attack people, not ideas--
Person A: I think Fords are better than Chevys because Ford uses solid aluminum flammulators.
Troll: What a moron! What are you, twelve? And your mother dresses you funny.

Trolls drag discussions off-topic--example above degenerates into a flame war. If someone asks a question, it never gets answered because everyone is too busy fighting the troll. They love to pop up on forums dedicated to a particular topic and post either in direct opposition to whatever the forum is about (i.e. Posting the "wonders of Windows on a Linux forum) or simply informing the members that they're stupid for being interested in whatever topic the forum is about. Trolling is not simple disagreement--as someone said in the other thread (Jonboy? Setec?) it always elicits an emotional response. Like Justice Potter Stewart said about pornography, it's hard to define, but you know it when you see it.

one is a mild sort of humorous activity meant to get lulz (with little expense to others) while the other is deliberate hate/grievence to another.
