    Default Yay nerfs! (For most)

Had a bit of looking at the buff changes in PvP. It has some MUCH NEEDED toning down of mage crit for sure. I haven't personally used my Fox/Rhinos since this update, but I do think the changes look pretty good so far. Only thing I still wish would change for them is this:

Why is this buff so weak? Dunno.

New classes look good (besides that buff), and mages are toned down, Bears are still fine from what I can tell. Birds, however.. I had a feeling this would happen to them. High levels, I'm sure the buff changes are wonderful news. However, at least pre 9 skill points, they have really low defense, with no way to compensate with damage until 45 ish. So I wanted to discuss that a bit, too!

Look at my level 36 Warbird:

Smexy, right? Well, maybe so, but what does he need to kill things? That big sword may look scary, but really, what he needs is damage buffs. Yes, if he gets close, you're probably dead. But what if he can't get close? Will this help do enough damage?

Sorry, but it won't. Look at my birdy's hit percent. This is a strength bird. 92 hit %. Do I really need 20 more hit %? I don't think so. Maybe, if it cut down dodge by having over 100% hit, yes, it would be worth it. However, it doesn't. (No I don't want STS to change the algorithms to make hit cut down dodge). What I believe would work is putting what most of the other classes have on his damage buff. Remove the hit % (Oh by the way, no one uses the Fox hit buff either ) from Focus, and add in base damage. Maybe similar to the mage buff?

My other way to buff low level birdies is to give their Evade skill more base armor increases. Either way, I think low level birdies really have issues dealing damage. When they do deal damage, they're amazing. Example: forgotten bow birdies? Let us not forget that birds rarely showed up Pre-30 before forgotten bows. Even once they hit 30, they were strength birds, not dex!

    What's your thoughts?

Rhinos have already enough defensive power, don't you think? Now that crit buffs were nerfed, boosting that dodge buff would make rhinos completely immortal terminators.

Actually most to the fox pvpers use it. Hit is important stat too.

I agree with your other points.

Perhaps, but then shouldn't it be something different? I know this might seem hypocritical of me, but maybe make it give a hit % buff to self for rhinos? If you think about it, Rhinos using the spec they're suppose to be (int/str) would actually have a need for hit % buffs, whereas the classes that don't really need it when using their native stat have these buffs.

Also, the reason I feel Foxes wouldn't need their hit % buff much is because they're suppose to be Int/Dex, right? So in theory they should have 100% hit after around 30 no matter what gear they use. Now, I do realize a lot of PvPers use strength gear on foxes, but imo they should have to deal with lower hit % if they want to use tank gear on a DPS class, like Mages do.

I guess I shouldn't really speak for Foxes though, as I haven't played much of the class. =x

It could be something different, but I really like to have that +7/14 dodge buff in ctf.

And btw, rhinos already have a hit% buff.

Let's take an example: lvl 26 fox vs. lvl 26 bird. Bird has maxed blinding and 40 dodge, fox has 90 hit.

    • Without blinding debuff fox hits 51% of it's attacks.
    • With blinding debuff fox hits 36% of it's attacks.
    • With blinding debuff and rank 1 fury buff fox hits 42% of it's attacks.
    • With blinding debuff and rank 2 fury buff fox hits 48% of it's attacks.

See how lvl 2 skill pretty much canceled the most important effect of lvl 6 skill? Sounds good to me.

I also think that fury is a way for foxes to effectively use the gear they were supposed to use; the close combat gear.
