Yo my ign is vegeta, i met this girl in game after having a lil chat we exchanged our kik id's..

We chatted a bit on kik then she sent me a link and asked me to like her facebook photo ( she said its some kinda competition of most beautiful girl lawl).

So when i clicked on link, it redirected me to a facebook login page. But i noticed somthing wrong with that page. Being a computer nerd am well informed with phising technique. ( i wont get in details)

In easy words : she was trying to get my account, by hacking into my facebook and thus getting my account via facebook login.

So guys be careful from such kinda hacks/scams.

Phishing is just one technique...the person couldve gotten you with a much sneakier technique and wouldve had ALL your accounts and information. Visiting a link with some simple javascript can end with a computer that's been opened right up for another to do as they please.

Awareness is one thing, but for the sake of your sanity and effort your better off not opening any link and just asking for the name of the profile to look up yourself. Keep yourself safe people, I'm CCNA certified, a software engineer, and a penetration tester, little things you wouldnt notice or think could contain something harmful usually does. And chances are, your AL accounts are the least of their, and your, worries. Keep your pc up to date with all latest patches, especially java and adobe reader, and youll be much safer.
