Obviously I am going to say thank you for making this decision. However, that's not to say we don't want more achievement opportunities thrown at us. A small part of me was actually excited when I read about Halloween and Winter Fest having achievements available. If they weren't planned to be limited time, everyone would have naturally been very excited.

The particulars of the achievements come in to play, and for Halloween the achievements there don't play well in the granting AP category. In general though limited time accessible achievements are a dangerous thing for reasons outlined in the thread.

I'm sure you are all waiting to hear an answer on this, and I'm here to report.

We have decided to make these achievements NOT worth achievement points. There is another reward tied to completing the main achievement, as well as a sizeable purse. We find it doesn't benefit us in any way to put points on the achievements vs. having them pointless other than upset customers across the board.

If you want little influence, why wouldn't you offer a 0 AP achievement and offer a pet, title, plat (lol, I can try), and/or gold instead (like the I'm AFK ap).

Just one thought I'd like to add......

Taejo mentioned how everything that has ever been released (except for some vanity banners) is still obtainable. I do think there should be some advantage to being a long time player. For example, in PL you had the elite vanities which later on you were allowed to craft into a ring. Any player could eventually get those vanities, but it would take time as you would have to wait for 3 expansions and cap each time. Obviously there seems to be no more expansions in PL since the game has pretty much died, so perhaps that is a bad example, but I think you understand my point.

I'm not saying that there should be a big advantage for long time players, but something a little extra. And whatever it is should always be obtainable by future players, but it should take time -- not time in terms of hours, but longevity in terms of how long it has been since you started playing. So far the only thing like this that has existed in AL is/was the bards quests which you needed to get the Colton pet in order to get the beastmaster achievement. But now with the price of Colton way down, anyone can just buy that egg for gold and not have to play for 50 days to get the pet.

I would like to see some examples like this where you really do have to put in the time, and there is not quick way to obtain whatever the item is. I've made suggestions in the past about some long term quests or other long term achievements. But it would be nice if there were some actual useful items that took a long time to obtain -- not because they are super rare, but because you have to play a long time and work very hard to get them. Maybe it would make some of us loyal players who have played for a long time feel better, and also give incentive for new players to stay for the long haul.
