This thread aims to guide players (Mainly the new) through the acronyms, terms and shortcuts that are constantly brought up throughout the game itself.

(In alphabetical order)

A
Ability - Ability
Definition: Another word to replace "Skill".

Aggro - Aggro
Definition: A player who has attracted the attention of mobs and is thus being attacked.

AH - Auction House
Definition: Another phrase to replace "Consignment Shop".

AL - Arcane Legends
Definition: The game that you're playing.

AoE - Area of Effect
Definition: A skill used that only affects targets within the radius itself.

AP - Achievement Points
Definition: Points that are accumulated for completing specific tasks.

Arcane - Arcane
Definition: The best but most difficult rarity to loot for. Also commonly known as "Red".

Armor - Armor
Definition: Worn to boost player stats/Intake less damage (Stat).

Auc - Auction
Definition: A term commonly referred by players when they sell their items in the Consignment Shop.


B
Banner - Banner
Definition: A worn flag with a symbol on it.

Buff - Buff
Definition: Increase in stats.

Build - Character Build
Definition: A player's stats and skills.


C
Cap - Player Level Capacity
Definition: Maximum level that can be reached (Currently Level 36).

Char - Character
Definition: The role of a player.

Common - Common
Definition: The most common rarity to loot for.

Companion - Companion
Definition: A companion aids in battle and boosts stats for the player. Requires feeding after happiness bar runs low.

Craft - Craft
Definition: Creates gems by using essence.

Crit - Critical
Definition: A hit that deals more damage (than a normal attack) to the other party. The chance of a critical hit varies on a player's critical chance (%) and some luck.

CS - Consignment Store / Crafting Station
Definition: A platform for selling/buying items. Also commonly known as "Auction House". / A station used for the crafting of gems, and the upgrading of equipments.

CTF - Capture the Flag
Definition: A playable game mode where the objective is to steal flags from an opponent's team and bring it back to their base. Players can also choose to fight instead. The team that achieves 5 flags first, wins!


D
Dex - Dexterity
Definition: Adding stat points to Dexterity affects: A Warrior's Dodge & Critical Chance; A Rogue's Damage, Bonus damage, Dodge & Critical Chance; A Sorcerer's Critical Chance & Dodge.

Dmg - Damage
Definition: The amount of damage a skill does.

Dps - Damage per Second
Definition: The amount of damage a player's weapon deals in one second.


E
Elite - Elite
Definition: The enhanced version of normal PvE maps where enemies are buffed and become harder to kill. Elite maps are timed and killing the boss stops the clock.

Elixir - Elixir
Definition: A magical liquid, when drunk, boosts character. Elixirs available: +50% XP, +25% Damage, +15% Protection, +25% Speed, +25 Luck.

ELMM - Elite Lost Mage's Mine
Definition: The advanced version of the Lost Mage's Mine. Refer to "LMM".

Emotes - Emoticons
Definition: A funny way to communicate by using body actions.

Epic - Epic
Definition: The third easiest rarity to loot for.

Essence - Essence
Definition: Magical essence is collected to craft gems for the upgrading of equipments. Gems available: Blood (Strength), Fire (Dexterity), Glacial (Intelligence).


G
GC - Guild Chat
Definition: Used to chat within the guild. Chat Command: /g (Message)

GF - Good Fight
Definition: Term used after a fair PvP Battle. Also commonly known as "Good Game".

GG - Good Game
Definition: Term used after a fair PvP battle. Also commonly known as "Good Fight".

GH - Guildhall
Definition: A town hall used by guilds for meetings and other purposes.

Gold - Gold
Definition: Main currency for Arcane Legends.

Guild - Guild
Definition: A joinable association created for groups of players that play regularly together. Guild Ranks (From highest position onwards): Guild Master, Guild Officer, Guild Recruiter, Guild Member.

GM - Guild Master
Definition: The owner of a guild.

Helm - Helmet
Definition: Worn to boost player stats.

Hp - Health points
Definition: The amount of health a player has.


I
Inc - Incoming
Definition: Term is used mainly in Elite runs when a large horde of enemies charges towards a player.

Int - Intelligence
Definition: Adding stat points to Intelligence affects: A Warrior's Mana Pool; A Rogue's Mana Pool; A Sorcerer's Mana Pool, Bonus damage & Regular Damage Output.

Inv - Invite
Definition: A term normally used by players to request for an invitation to a party.

Inventory - Inventory
Definition: List of items on hand.


K
x k (x = Value) - x Thousand
Definition: Gold counted in thousands.

KS - Kill Steal
Definition: Term used when somebody steals a kill the other player rightfully deserves.

KM - Kraken Mines
Definition: Consists of 3 different mines (Varies in difficulty) to run that are timed. Can be found by talking to Captain Hanna Raven in the Dragon's Jewel, and then clicking on Explore, The Kraken Mines. Requires Kraken Quest Line to be completed to be granted access.

Kraag Tombs - Tombs of Kraag
Definition: Consists of 3 different tombs (Varies in difficulty) to run that are timed. Requires level 15/16 for access and quest can be found by talking to Krobox in Kraag City.


L
Legendary - Legendary
Definition: The third hardest rarity to loot for. Also commonly know as "Pink".

Lepre - Leprechaun Pendant
Definition: Mythic Rarity. Equipping this pendant grants the wearer a 15% chance of re-rolling for a better loot permanently.

LMM - Lost Mage's Mine
Definition: A mine located within the Arcanum Grounds in Dead City Outskirts.

Locked - Locked Grand Crate of the Watch
Definition: Legendary Rarity. 1 - 3 Legendary, Mythic or Arcane item, 2k - 150k gold or 5-300 platinum is rewarded for opening a Locked Grand Crate of the Watch. Costs 15 platinum to open one crate.

Loot - Loot
Definition: Gold or equipment that is received from killing a mob/boss.


M
x m (x = Value) - x Million
Definition: Gold counted in millions.

Mage - Mage
Definition: Another word to replace "Sorcerer".

Minimap - MiniMap
Definition: When activated, guides a player through a map with more ease.

Mob - Mob
Definition: Computer-controlled enemies.

Mp - Mana points
Definition: The amount of mana a player has.

Mule - Mule
Definition: An account that is used specifically for stashing or storing items such as gold and equipments.

Myth - Mythic
Definition: The second hardest rarity to loot for.


N
Nerf - Nerf
Definition: Decrease in stats.

NPC - Non-Playable Character
Definition: A character not controlled by players, but by computers via artificial intelligence.


O
OP - Overpowered
Definition: Term referred when a player appears to be invincible.


P
Pet - Pet
Definition: Another word to replace "Companion".

Pink - Legendary
Definition: Another word to replace "Legendary".

Plat - Platinum
Definition: Second virtual currency for Arcane Legends.

PM - Private Message
Definition: Used to message another player privately. Chat Command: /t (Player username) (Message)

Pot - Potion
Definition: Potions are drank when a player's health/mana (Green and Blue in colour respectively) is low to regenerate part of them.

Pt - Party
Definition: A party is formed for a group (Maximum of 4) of players to play privately together. Party Chat Command: /p (Message)

PUG - Pickup Group
Definition: A group of random players forming up together as a team.

PvE - Player versus Environment
Definition: A fight against computer-controlled enemies.

PvP - Player vs Player
Definition: Another term to replace "TDM".


R
Rare - Rare
Definition: The second easiest rarity to loot for.

Red - Arcane
Definition: Another word to replace "Arcane".

Rogue - Rogue
Definition - Playable character in Arcane Legends.


S
Satchel - Satchel
Definition: Used to store tokens that are earned. Can be found in the Inventory.

Skill - Skill
Definition: Variety of abilities for a class used to enhance a player's damage/stats, or healing powers for lower risks of death in-game.

Sorc - Sorcerer
Definition: Playable character in Arcane Legends. Also commonly known as "Mage" or "Smurf".

Smurf - Smurf
Definition: Another word to replace "Sorcerer".

SS - The Southern Seas
Definition: PvE map in Kraken Isle where a player has to fight against Captain Bloodhammer to progress to Grog Beach.

Stash - Stash
Definition: Items are placed here for safekeeping, or kept inside when inventory is full.

Stats - Character statistics
Definition: Displays the character's base stats.

STG - Spacetime Games
Definition: Games created by Spacetime Studios. Dark Legends, Pocket Legends, etc.

Str - Strength
Definition: Adding stat points to Strength affects: A Warrior's Regular Damage Output, Bonus damage & Health; A Rogue's Health Points; A Sorcerer's Mana Points, Bonus Damage & Regular Damage Output.

STS - Spacetime Studios
Definition: The games development studio that created Arcane Legends.


T
TDM - Team Death-match
Definition: A playable game mode where the objective is to kill opponents from the other team. The team to reach 20 kills first, wins! Also commonly know as "PvP".

Token - Token
Definition: Coins that also act as part of Arcane Legends' currencies. All types of tokens: Story Tokens & Hauntlet Tokens.

Toon - Toon
Definition: Another word to replace "Character".

Twink - Twink
Definition: A low-levelled character with powerful gears (Normally funded by a higher-levelled player).


U
Upgrade - Upgrade
Definition: Gems inputted into equipments to boost stats when worn.


V
Vanity - Vanity
Definition - Equipped to appear mightier/more attractive. Does not affect stats.


W
War - War
Definition: A war occurance between two conflicting guilds or groups of player that is settled by CTF/TDM.

Warr - Warrior
Definition: Playable character in Arcane Legends.

WT - Watchers' Tomb
Definition: Consists of 4 different tombs (Varies in difficulty) to run that are timed. Quest can be found by talking to Benadikt in Traveler's Outpost.


X
XP - Experience points
Definition: Killing enemies on PvE maps grants experience points for levelling up.

Add these two:

Inc: Incoming ie. maps in Elites with big trash incoming you don't want to type the whole word and risk dying.
PUG: Pick Up Group, meaning randoms when you join a map to run it.

Also out of thanks, but excellent guide for beginners and even intermediate players who aren't aware of MMO terminology since a majority of it applies to alot of other MMO's.

You may want to add "twink", I'd love to read an actual definition. Some people even say lv16 is too high for a twink...
Also LMM and ELMM, even some advanced players don't know it's (Elite) Lost Mage's Mine. Not that they are likely to read this though...
