I didn't like Highschool DxD the first time I tried it, but now that I'm rewatching (as we speak I'm starting season 2 hehe) I really enjoy it, I do think the fanservice is a little over the top but, still a very good series.

Well, I have finished watching highschool dxd season 2, glad to hear that there will be a season 3. Date isnt announced yet but its worth waiting

I think he has tried those? Anyway, Demon King Daimaou (Ichiban Ushiro no Daimaou) is one of all time favorites, along with Devil is a Part-Timer! (Hataraku Maou-sama!) so I strongly recommend both of these, apart from the earlier suggestions!
