The point I was trying to make was that PL is dying and we should make plat rates better to the part of the community that remains. Well that's my theory and it could be right or wrong

I understand your point but I'm sure that if the prices are like that they got stats amd everything to make sure it's enough for your moneys worth. Just look at AL you get less for the same price.
