Build the powerful mage?

Guys i want ask how to spend skill points if i want powerful stat and i have plat for respect what i supose to spend and what item should i buy??#theprofessors(40)

Well...the classic PvE build for mage is:
-Shield
-Fire
-Time
-Ice
-Int
-Str
-Dex
Of course new level cap came so you can add something...I added Lighting and change it in place of time when boss comes..

Upgrade only INT. + you get health and get shield fire heal and ice

I have to say I've tweaked my mage build many times. It's a great way to learn the class and find the best build for your play style. Here is what I currently have to run elites:

4/5 fire (no scorch)
4/5 ice (no shatter)
3/5 shield (no wave or hardening)
4/5 clock (no explode)

My Passives
4/5 might
5/5 crit
5/5 dmg
2/5 dex
5/5 int
4/5 might

Heal is great to lvl and run with a PuG to supply mana. For end game elites you will die trying to charge it up. Use the points elsewhere.

As TheWitch said "The Classic PvE build is -Shield -Fire -Time -Ice etc" If you want, you can add a skill point to heal to swap skills for different situations but I recommend TheWitch's advice on build because it's better to spam Potions instead of using heal.

Thanks to everyone. I am new to AL, since Dec. 25th. My mage is currently weak so I need to reset my skill points. I get killed easily before lower level players and I shouldn't. Plus, I have had several guild invites but am confused. Pro guild? Friends guild? Why is it so important? A friend told me my character would be important in pro guild but I don't know why. I have left several guilds because I don't seem to get any help. What's up with that? Any replies would help. Thanx!
