Mage Build

I am thinking about respecing my mage. I am interested on peoples thoughts about this build.

4/5 - Fire - no scorch
4/5 Time - no time bomb
4/5 Frost - no shatter
3/5 Lightning - no discharge or shock

5/5 - Knowledge
5/5 - Agility
5/5 - Might
5/5 - Damage
5/5 - Critical

My current build uses heal. It helped when I was a noob and didn't have money for pots. Now it is a waste. I also thought about using shield but this build strikes me as the ultimate damage machine. I am interested in some constructive criticism.

This is my build except I don't have crit passive. I added time bomb, discharge, ice patch and shield with only the 2 second invincibility upgrade. If you can dodge red zones and spam health potions well you will destroy mobs with this build.

This may help you too. But yeah, its up to you. If you feel squishy, run 5skill build. Meaning switch shield/time with light at boss fight. If not, use fire ice time light.

I'll go for 5/5 on frost... IMO, ice patch (shatter upgrade) very helpful when u running elite

So is the consensus that I remove the passive crit? Use the points in my active skills? Maybe add shield?

I have the same build as your first post. I wouldn't remove the crit passive for other skills IMHO.

I'd keep crit. Time Shift's DoT can crit, and its your main PvE skill so I'd keept crit. I like crit more than I like dmg passive. So its up to you. Once you have crit chance 15-20% or more, you'll see the crit power.

Without shield it's very difficult in elites.

Thanks for the input. I have officially respecced and love it. Haven't run elites though so I guess I'll see if its a mistake in due time.

Yeah. In elites, shield is often a must - as you won't be able to spam pots fast enough without it if aggro goes to you.

Occasionally, I've had it where the war will die (lag, or something else), and you can't run and pot fast enough. With shield though, it takes in enough damage you can still pot, and get out of range fast enough, letting the enemies reset, and waiting for the war to join you.

I really like heal for lvl'ing up. It's so useful in a PuG when ppl aren't buying pots... :/
