Thoughts on arcane ring for arcane mage

I just saw someone is buying shard for 72m, thats the exact price of 4 samael eggs.. 4!

I'm not opposed to paying 72m for one item. But it has to be reflected in the stats.

When the mythic staff came out, the arcane staff had its damage considerably boosted, if you remember. So, I suspect they would take the same precautions in this case.

That just means the gap between level 31 mythic ring will increase. But whatever the difference between level 41 mythic ring vs arcane ring will be the same.

If there is a mythic ring, developers have shown us that the arcane counterpart will be adjusted accordingly.

Here are the stats with 2 different super gem rings (would love mages opinions on this please) at the moment I am all glac gems with my ring and I'm swaying to keeping it that way, then throw in tarlok wisdom gems and I'm so confused lol

Because Wind gems arent designed for mages, you will get a little less dmg with full grand Wisdoms, around ~680 but +81 hp and +9 str compared to full grand glacial.

Giving up 6-7 dmg for 9 str and +81 hp is a very good deal if you ask me, its like giving up 1% passive damage for 2 point passive might.

Ofc, im not sure it's worth it with the current tarlok gem prices.

Glacial is decent. The problem is, there is only one lvl41 item which worth gemming with tarlok so the stat differences are not rly noticeable and the tarlok gem prices very high now.

For PvE/Timed runs I would use Glacial gems because the damage is higher. If PvP I would use Tarlok Wisdom. If you are doing both then probably Tarlok Wisdom gem. The extra STR will help keep your shield from going down before 15 seconds expires. In PvE the extra health is meaningless because you can use pots. In PvP, the extra health will help but isn't huge but the extra STR keeps your shield up and a second or two of 45% damage reduction can save your life. So giving up a few points of damage for the extra STR is worth it. As for myself, I'll probably just use Glacial gems because I have grown tired of the drama in PvP. So I probably won't be spending much of my time there.

one last thought: maybe tarlok gems are good choice in long term as more lvl41 items can we use, since tarlok wont come back anytime soon as samhayne stated. These gems are very powerful on the specified twink levels, because if all your equipment is fully tarlok gemmed, than the benefits are very noticeable. I saw lvl15 mages with near 2k hp.
