Default What Trade-Able Elixir Kits Will Do To The Economy

With the addition of trade-able elixir kits we will see a dramatic decrease in price on any farmable high end legendary gear/locked crates. This now opens the door for everyone to effectively farm with increased stats and luck which will make their elite runs FAR easier and locked farming runs (KM3, Jarl, etc) yield significantly more results thus flooding the market with additional legendary items/locked crates that would have otherwise been attained with much more difficulty.

    What can you do?

Wait it out and purchase while prices are low. Initially I speculate that we will see the most dramatic drops within the first few days after about 3-5 days the market will begin to stabilize itself. Hang onto those locked crates UNTIL STS releases their new Mythic items as the demand for locked crates will SKY ROCKET like we have not seen since halloween only this time it will be compounded even more so by the fact that multiple new Mythic weapons AND Armor will be released (not just weapons like during the halloween event) when these new Mythic are released we should see locked crates reach a minimum price of 30K if not higher.

    **This is a speculative post**

Not really, price is determine by supply AS WELL AS demand. IF the supply is higher than the demand - then yes the price will fall highly unlikely though.

What tradeable elixers really did was make AL close to a legit free to play.

Lol they won't sky rocket as high as you think they will. The crate openers buy the crates while they are cheap and open them during special events to save ALOT of money. this hoarding tactic isn't worth the time.

First off, posting tips on how to profit usually results in it not working because then everybody is attempting that tactic.

Secondly, I agree with pretty much everything else.

The lepragoblin(not sure what its darn name was) shows what happens to prices when elixirs are available to everyone. Locks dropped in price by 20% or so. This should not have as dramatic of an effect because you still have to pay for the elixirs. Serious farmers will definitely buy these and it may affect higher end items a bit more severely than locks. Going to be interesting.

Spend 12K for chance to loot a 12K item? Explain to me again how these are going to crash the price of locks?

It will increase the supply of locked crates into the market along with increasing the supply of higher end legendary items. This increase in supply wont be able to meet the demand of the market, at least not at this point in time. This will cause the prices of both to drop.

I would assume that locks will not crash 20% like they did before. Maybe 10%. The more people farming with luck the more crates found. More crates means cheaper prices. Just basing this off of the St. Pattys day event. However everyone had reroll elixir during that time. Not sure how many people will buy them. If I hadn't just bought plat I would lol. Half an hour of reroll usually yields 3-4 locks. Well worth spending 12k to make 39-52k. 27-40k profit.

    This!

Another is locked crate prices at new expansions...well if everyone hoards their locks beforehand then of course prices won't skyrocket.

Prices will fall on locked and eggs. Mostly this will kill easily farmable items. Those things that are hard to farm the prices won't fluctuate that much. In 30 minutes you can farm 2-3 locked in km3. Also people stack elixirs with combo.

    Agreed!

To add on to what Falmear said: not everybody can waste 10k each run for elites, especially when you factor in pot usage and other things. The people that this luck crate benefits is the hardcore farmers. For others, it's just another money drain for a chance to loot nothing.

Remember, elite tindirin runs can take 15-25 minutes, depending on the map. So, that means that you're basically putting in a 10k investment every run or every other run which adds up really quick.

Default What Trade-Able Elixir Kits Will Do To The Economy

I've only seen a 1~1.5k drop in crate prices so far. And may I add that it is looking to e quite difficult to maximize the elixirs when you have lots of crates in your inventory. It won't work well for opening before killing the boss in elites, you're sure to die before you can finally find the kit after scrolling down. Guess you have to use the kit before starting on the boss if you want that extra 25%. I really hope sts adds a search function to the inventory.

More people who get luck elixirs as opposed to farming just with lep means more chances. More chances equals more drops across the entire game. Easily farmable stuff will be hit hardest because more people will run those. Stuff thats hard to farm, those people are already using luck or combo or both. So its not going to change much. The other side of the coin is STS nerfs drops because too much stuff is dropping. There is no free lunch and there is no such thing as free to play. Read this article which is basically in defense of free to play:

    http://www.polygon.com/2014/4/9/5597...-to-play-games

Also read the comments section and you get an idea how what STS is thinking about.

I couldn't really beleive that STS actually released these types of "packs". I was immediately overwhelmed by the thought: "now everyone can farm whenever they want to by simply buying a pack from the auction!"

Hopefully, STS knows what they're doing and that it's intentional...

I'd like to see how this all turns out

Actually i think its cool how they made the packs im sorry but it probaly wont effect the prices so many people can't be thankful over things if only you knew how hard it was to make in game items
