The mobs are on a "tether" of sort for the most part. When they reach a certain range they rebound back to their spawn location. During this time they are invulnerable to all attacks. Could you remove this invulnerability and allow an attack to re-aggro them? It's a pain to be attacking something and have it restore it's health because someone knocked it too far away and it rebounded back restoring its health.
