I dont think he needs potions, by the looks of his skill set I think its a PVP build.

Can we stop with these topics now? There have already been a dozen of these containing pictures from with smoke bombs from Shadow Veil bug.

As mentioned by Samhayne, it'll be fixed in the new client (if not earlier).
