Summary of Free player's rewards from Goblin Assault Event

Now that the end of the event has been announced (I've deciphered it as 2014-06-10 16:30 UTC, post #25 ), it's possible to make a summary on the rewards of free runners.
I have gathered these results from, eh, 15 toons.
Total pink loot is 1 Gyrm, 2 Estebans (), and some Lockeds. All runs with luck elix and lepre.
As you can see:
1. Only about half the toons are able to buy Ironbite (shown in bold, assuming Chief Fury and no energy on the remaining runs).
2. Every run counts. If you didn't get any free energy, or got low bosses at the start, it's gonna be tough.
3. If the event was extended for just a few hours, pretty much everyone would get Ironbite, turning the total failure into mild disappointment.
4. Depending on how much you PUGged/soloed, your results may vary.

What did other free players get? How much you PUGged vs Soloed vs Partied?

For the inquisitive minds, the results differ so much because some people get many free energy while others get none.

I just posted about this on the suggestion thread for the event.. looks like I got pretty lucky. I'm at 76 right now, I'll get two energy before the event ends tomorrow so 12 more if I'm lucky and get major payne, plus the two from the daily so 14 added to this for a total of 90 tokens for this event. I did not buy any energy at all and one energy was always on CD, but I did get lucky and got two free energy from the bosses. I also soloed every run, glad I did after finding out about the pug/party tier difference or I probably wouldn't have gotten the amount of tokens I have now.

I will manage to get ironbite (which I personally don't want as a pet) on my main and 2-vanities-i-hate on my smurf. It is disappointing.

I ran everyday with 3 toons. One was able to get ironbite with a total token count of 76+ whatever boss happens to drop with my final energy today. Another toon could get ironbite if this final boss drops energy for me. If not, I'll have to settle for 2 vanitys on my other two chars. All reached gold tier. Every character I used found a minimum of 4 energy from event bosses.

Overall very disappointing event for free players. STS please change this for the next event.

yup agree with the result, Ironbite would be the max you can get for free or at least you can have the blighted vanity if you use all the free energy

Had to purchase 2 energy kits to get the ironbite for my 2nd toon, the vanity is cheap in cs so ironbite is better

Mainly because the Ironbite requires over 2.5x tokens than the vanity set

Actually you can get much more for free, I farmed free platinum purchases and bought tokens with plat, enabling me to get a glaive the first day

I really don't understand everyone's frustration. Yes, investing money gets you more loot. Same is true for elite (via gear, potions, and luck kits. And, plat revives for plat players). You didn't even need plat so their really isn't an excuse. Everyone had an oppertuninty.

Crow, the frustration is how the whole event played out. Sure, we could have spent gold or plat to get more rewards or play it longer but that is a pay2play game. The items were cheaper to buy in CS than for people to buy kits or spend their plat. That's how I got my amulet.

The problem is the direction this game is headed if a major revamp doesn't take place. If free players have nothing to do in the game then they leave. People that buy some plat that don't have tons of gold or plat to play these events leave. Now who's left? Heavy plat spenders? It's no fun for them when everyone else in the game is on their level so they leave. The option to spend money needs to be here but it should be an option. This event you were forced to pay or sit on the sidelines.

I don't feel I learned anything out of it all other than that to succeed you need to work the system. I am hopeless at that lol.

I don't feel I learned anything out of it all other than that to succeed you need to work the system. I am hopeless at that lol.

I agree, the event was boring. Granted, I though tarlok was boring and quit the game for about a week during it. An elite type attribute for better loot would be a good addition to the event system. As is, it is locked farming with a higher pay out. It is boring and devestates the economy if a new super item is released that everyone wants (tarlok gear). Since there was nothing currently being farmed to compete with the talisman it didn't hurt anything, but mark my words that if tarlok like items are released it will destroy the magma gear economy.

I don't care if my gear is worth nothing as long as it gets me tanking happily through a fun game - and it'll still look better than the blighted vanities xD

IMO, It takes a while to learn what items will be valuable and how best to go about getting them Crow.

New players really don't stand much of a chance unless they have lots of inside help - and most experienced players aren't willing to share that info.
