im not sure if your problem is same as mine

but sometimes there are cases where i move my toon on the opposite direction, and it moves in the opposite instead

what i do is to open menu, click avatar tab, and press escape.

No this is different. Going to the avatar page does nothing, I have to either leave, or let myself die.
