Deep in the Sandstone Caves, something peculiar is happening. A temporal rift has started to open, and soon the heroes of Alterra will be able to travel back in time to visit the "Ancient Caverns," before they were the Sandstone Caves. The power of the mysterious crystals is much stronger in the past. It emanates from the crystals and boosts the power and strength of the wandering cave golems, so be warned, you'll need to be at least level 72 before you brave these caves.
Along with this new area to explore, we will also be adding another level,
boosting the cap to 77. Don't be deceived, though, this level isn't going to be easy to obtain. You'll need quite a lot of XP if you hope to get from 76-77, but the reward will be well worth it. Along with the elite vanity shield still available for reaching level 76, we'll be adding a
new elite vanity pet for reaching 77, and you know what that means. Level capped players will be able to combine the level 76 Blacksmoke Mountain vanity shield with the new level 77 vanity to
obtain a 2-set ring. Of course, if you have a previous level cap vanity from 56, 61, 66 or 71, you could obtain a 3-set ring.
