Its considered a bad offer because of the rarity of the two items, yes they are both pink, however armors are way easier to get as drops than the shields, same goes with bows, they are harder to get, especially this shield asked for since its the best shield of the type currently. And the item offered wasnt even close to worth the same. Now if they would have offered a multiple item alongside it it would completely change the setting.

Don't expect to trade one item for one of his items. I tried a while back for two equal items and he turned me down as well. I was looking to trade a Conqueror's Bone Plate for the Dreamers Bone Robe. Two equal items, but nope wasn't enough.
