This isn't random, richies throwing away gold or just kind people enforcing their own gold sink. It's an often seen trick to get accidental lock purchases at immense prices exploiting the way the current auction search system keeps the highlighted item even after you reverse price list.

Yea he helps poor people by telling them he wnna buy their recently looted kershal for low money for his personal use and next day sells it on forums for its original price..
