Tell me if this sounds like a scam, I know the name of the person but don't want to put it out cause I don't know enough to say if he was doing wrong or not.. I was approached by a guy that asked me to a lvl 4 weapon from the cs because for sone reason they couldn't do it. He himself was a lvl 4 so I first thought that the person did not know how to do it. They said to buy it and then they would trade and compensate. I thought ok. I looked up the weapon and there were only 2 and were several hundred thousands a piece. They were only common lvl 4 items with low grade stats. I told the person and they were cool with that. This kinda spooked me cause only people with multiple characters can afford that much (unless using platinum) and they would know ho to use cs. My theory, and tell me if I wrong, is that the person owned the item maybe through another character and spiked the price. They talk you into buying the item at unreasonable price, them bounce out before you can sell it to them. Tell me what you think.

Yup, this is just a slight variation on one of the most popular current schemes, but you saw right through it

Absolutely that is a scam. No lvl 4, or anyone, would be willing to pay that much for a common item. He was using multiple characters to trick you into spending a lot of money on his worthless item, with no intent to buy it back from you.

He happened to catch me while I was saving money for the sentinel set so I actually had the money on me. It could have been bad. Is there any way to investigate the people who own the items. Wouldnt want anyone to be scammed by these guys.--------------- just checked and the items are gone

I would report it by emailing support. Include the character names and any screenshots if you have them. Anything that was said in chat theyll be able to see in their chat logs.

For insance, if above each of my character's name it always said "Lesrider," people would know my characters are all me. If the shop would then use the master account name instead of the character name, people would not be able to pull this stunt unless they create a second account (which would happen much more rarely).

I totally got scammed i was a dex mage after being pure int with a full shadow set. I went to death and dex but hated it so i wanted to go back so i offered death and other items like mega blaster green, ice crossbow<----that was really stupid and other items for shadow...i gave him the other items first cause he insisted...and well i was a little desperate...and he signed off and took my items. i still had death tho and eventually i got a fury plate drop and that got people talking to trade their shadow lol.

I was actually amazed when I found out that not only was this the case, but that when you accepted a friend request it was ONLY on the character you accepted it. It's one of the few things about this game I feel makes it cumbersome to play, as opposed to easy to pick up and play for a few minutes whenever I have time.

Definitely not true.

Only STS can sell or award platinum, nobody else can no matter what.

Use the report function, and if you remember his name type "/report <insert his name here>" if you can't find him.

EDIT: I did see someone saying "selling platinum" but it turns out he was selling platinum bows... >.<
