The chance u get a mythic from the event chest is like meh.
During ursoth's event I opened 130+ elondrian crates and 250+ spirit chests, yet I didn't get even one single mythic item. That is when I decided to give my gambling issue a time-out :P
I don't expect that I can have more than 30 greater pumpkin chests to open this time due to the change of crafting mechanism.
Last time u didn't need any essence to craft an ultimate event chest while u need 5 Halloween essence to craft one this time. Considering how rarely those essence drop, u will need like around 30-45 minutes to farm all the essence u need to craft one single chest, which gives u one shot for the new mythic weapon, however rare that chance is.

so, the necro crates have the usual ~1/100 chance to loot mythics, but seems the people are more lucky, less amulets and ring. While the chance to loot mythic from a great pumpkin is ~1/500. This second is extreme low, should be 1/300 or 1/200 imho, maybe they lowered the chance because no amulets and ring in these chests?

I think your math is a little off given that the ratio of item that any single crate/event chest contains is 3:1.

I mean opening an event crate gives u 3 items while an event chest gives u only 1.

All in all, the number of how many mythics out of how many items is fixed. The number u are listing is from biased samples, which may not reflect the mechanism correctly.

Like in a casino, you can always change the dealer, but u don't temper the math.

It's a sample of whoever posts. The sample size and people adding input are not pre-determined, making it as fair a poll as is possible to get. Yes many people looting mythics won't post, just like many who open a ton of blanks won't post. It's a random poll, and is pretty much as random as one can get.

It also doesn't matter if it's just one item in the pumpkin chests, since we only want to know how many of each chest have mythics found inside, compared to how many have blanks.

No the numbers will not be precise, but it's just for fun and to get a rough estimate by seeing what other people are finding.

I agree. Considering that pumpkins can only be obtained from the hardest boss or crafting with a recipe requiring (5?) bones, the chances of getting a mythic in these should be substantially higher than necro locks. Given that there is only one item inside, and most of the time that is 2k or 5k gold, 1 mythic in 200 or 300 chests would not be out of order.


People could say that only the unlucky are reporting, but that is not the case. I have only heard about 3 other finds in pumpkins that are not recorded here. 2 of those are unverified. With a large number of contacts who are "in the loop" and/or running leaderboard (which means opening a ton of gpc's) if there were more being found, that news would filter in.

Let's have a little fun with STS and their mathematicians, and learn what we can about their event drop rates.

If you loot a new mythic, post here what you found it in, and approximately how many of that item you opened before getting it.



I'll start.

As most people know (the gossip mill in this game is astounding) I looted the first bonesaw last night. I had run up 13,700 points in the event and opened the approximate 15 greater pumpkin chests I found in that time. The bonesaw was in the last one.

I had not opened any necropolis crates.


Update: I'm adding mine to the totals as I go, and have updated the stats below with valid info through post 93.
(excluding the items noted in posts 49-51. Waiting for confirmation on those for accuracy's sake.)
