[Curious Comparison] Mythic vs. Imbued Dark Crystal Armor

Here are the stats for the rouge armor

Today, i was asked by a random nice rouge this,
"Which armor is the best for rouge?"
At first i was going to say the imbued dark crystal armor because stat wise and content wise, it should be the best and newest stuff for players. Then i thought economically and chance wise what would be the best armor for this rouge, and this is how i came up with this post.
My conclusion?
I told the rouge that "The mythic armor is still the best armor in the game".
And this is why...

Heres the comparison (I bolded the main points, explanation is nonbolded)
To obtain the...

Mythic armor (Doing this from memory)
1.5 - 2mil depending on the price
100k for the essence
Defeating inan'hesh - 30min or so
Farming barrels for pieces - 4-8 hrs
Crafting time - 12-24-36 hrs? Cant remember exactly
Some other quests which I cant't exactly remember.

Totaled up time wise and money wise (lets say you take your time and you spend a bunch for the armor)
= It takes 2.5m and 10hrs of farming the quests and barrels (crafting is just waiting)

To obtain the...
Imbued dark crystal gear

Farming fragments for the armor = 160 * avg 15min per run = 40 hours
Farming fragments for the helm = 140 * avg 15min per run = 35 hours
Getting the complete set for about the average person is 300 runs running 15min per run which = It takes 70 hours

Lets talk chances = getting the elite planar crate drops and opening them to get the base part you want personally = 1/8 chance (cost = nothing bc drops)
Zeus opened 50-60 got 1 base part = 1/50 chance (cost = 20mil)
Chance at getting a planar crate in tombs? Ive gotten 0/56, one other person on forums mentioned 2/240 = 1/120

All multiplied together, we see the chance at getting the base part and the money you might have to spend to get the one you need.
1/8 * 1/50 * 2/296 =
A 0.000016891% chance to get a planar elite chest, open it, and get the base part you want.

Now personally I dont even want the helms as seen above, their stats give extra 2% crit in exchange for 26 armor and adds 25 health in exchange for 2 str. The only viable two items are the potency and brutality chest peices for the small dmg, crit, armor buff they give but if i know i only have a 0.000016891% chance at farming and getting the one i wanted, heck! I'd rather buy a lottery ticket!

That was the free method I explained above.
Lets talk money now

Zeus spent 20m+ to get many crates the entire AL has farmed and got the brutality helm which is pretty lucky of him (grats). However, looking at the stats, the brut helm isnt even that much better.

Estimated cost of buying planar chests = varies, but your chances of getting the armor go up with more money, not by much, but an average person may have to spend 15-20m in planar chests

Why spend the time and effort and money and risk?

Approximately 70 hours

0.000016891% chance at getting the crate, opening a legendary base part, and getting the one
you wanted when the mythic armor is a 100% chance from auc

And if you want to spend money which is the only fast method at obtaining the armor, you can risk 1m (current price of elite planar chest) - 50m+ to obtain the armor/helm

When you could simply do the 2.5m and 10hrs for the armor that has a better helm and only a fraction worse armor. I don't see the incentive in the new armor at this rate. Only the richest, im talking about your zeus and 100m+ people are going to open 1m priced crates. I personally will sell these crates rather than risk losing 1m that i could use for the event or the next update.

Lets talk stats now,

As I mentioned before, why spend extra time, extra money, and risk for armor that is not equivalently extra special, the stats of the helm is basically extra 2% crit and the armor has +0.57% crit, 36 armor, and 2.3 dmg. Plus its legendary, -6 dex for both helm and armor if its grand gemmed. These are petty stat improvements for an armor so rare and time consuming to obtain!

How about making this armor better and how about increasing the drop rate of planar chests/base parts.

Please consider, the imbued dark crystal armor is not much better. I'm not going to go into the other classes, I've heard the warrior one has better improved stats but the mage one is not worth it for both, correct me if I'm wrong

I would have loved to tell that rouge that "the best armor is the one in those tombs, they are the newest and most difficult to obtain, but with hard work and time you can do it "
After finding out about the base part, not even I can obtain the newest and "best" armor in the game. The base part makes it a luck game I dont want to be a part of. It's alright though, I'm not coming from a mad place that hates anyone, I just want to show people the truth and make sure they have an enjoyable time and what they work for will pay off for them.

Armors are okay though. I'll probably try and get one.

Well there's this daily quest that gives 10 planar ess for three boss kills = ~45 mins. But yeah, overall it's definitely not worth it. Better to just chase the mythic recipe dream, at least it's less expensive now that people got used to Arena.

Yea i run for the essences, but after i get 60 it will be pointless unless i try to farm for planar crates...but i havent gotten any so meh, maybe ill complete one planarite bar for a person like zeus who got a base fragment

Looks like the rogue armor is a big improvement, but the helm looks like it needs a slight buff.

For sorcerers, both are a big improvement.

Imbued Gem set for mage is better than mythic, especially the armor. It seems like a buff for mage when compare to new set for other classes.

That cost for a legendary set? Lol no, I'll wait for new cap and Rock my mythics for now. No way in the world I'm spending that much gold on a pink set. I'll farm my dailies and arena once the recipe drops.

The quest chain is too long and way too spendy. If they removed the planar chest component ok.

Better yet, stick those amulet recipes in the planar chests too.
