    Default Gingerbread OTA Review

Just yesterday my Nexus One got it's 2.3 OTA. Of course I stayed up till 4AM just to try it out. Man am I surprised the animation is now smoother than 2.2. Took only a couple of minutes to update and surprisingly, everything went fine. No problems at all. In a matter of 20 minutes or less, I was playing PL right after I reinstalled the APK just to be sure.

My basis is when I go into Crush the Keeper and with a full party, everything goes slow-mo inside King Mynas' tomb. I mean literally laggy on the animation and movement. But now, I'm just very happy with the Adroid update.

Good to hear. I just flashed CyanogenMOD 7 RC2 last night. I'm anxious to try out PL on it.

Question: if you get over 500 ping, does it disconnect you? I've been having that prob with me, haven't played in 5 days... torture.

I experience the same thing when I play outside the house (at the front yard) where the Wifi or 3G signal is really low (one bar'ish) and yes it disconnects. I almost/always get a ping higher than 500 on busy hours of the day. My best ping on Wifi is afterall no less than 280.

So, it's not just me then. When I had 2.1/2.2, it could be anything... currently in the process of downgrading, and it's screwing up. :s

@Otukura: since it's a dev phone, it should be unlocked.
Flash clockwork recovery for Nexus One, copy the downloaded ROM to your sdcard, make a full wipe (data, cache) from recovery, and install the rom.
It's important that you do the full wipe, and/or reformat the partitions, since gingerbread uses ext4 whereas froyo uses ext3 fs.
