If you want the immunity, you have to active the AA shield BEFORE you get stunned/frozen. If you are stunned/frozen and then activate the AA, it does not remove stun/freeze but afterwards, while shield is on, you will be immune while shield is active.

maybe different in pve, when farming plannar tomb3 boss, even with shield ,you will be stunned if you enter the red zone close to boss

I'm not sure. Stunned with stars? or is it a push and then you can't move?
