No it's called hijacking a thread. Make your own thread, unless of course you don't know how to? I'm pretty sure developer's look down upon taking other people's threads. If you don't know how to make a thread. When you enter a topic. There should be a blue oval button that says "Post a thread" on your top upper left hand corner. Jacking other people's thread's make you look like a SuperduperNOOB (Or insert any other phrase of your choosing here).
EDIT: While you are right that this forum's is public. Does that mean that one can post Bloody, Gory, or R rated material in off-topic discussion? Just because it is off topic? I am pretty sure you can't. Don't flame a respected member of the forums, ESPECIALLY when he just showed you common courtesy and manners. I'm sure you learned that manners apply in all aspects of life? Use them if you did.
