Plats Waste Of Money?

So I Decided To Buy 50$ Worth In Plats(600) Today Sadly for The FIrst Time. I Spent All my gold on locks and opened all... Sad To Say I Only Got A Bunch Of Needless Armour that sells for about 1k. Started the openeing with 15k and got 280k from getting 2k cold in it. If I Sell All The Cheap armour I Might Get 350k max. And I Thought Transfering Plats to gold was a waste of money . If I Traded the money I Would've gotted 600k instead of 350k max... This Made Me Feel So Butthurt and Im So Discouraged from Buying Plats Ever Again. I Told My Guildies and Some of them said they've spent up to 300$ in plats, Opened all In Locks and Got Absolutely Nothing Good. And This Was in x2 Weekend So I Wonder How Hard It Is To Get Rarae Items During The Normal Season. Is It Just Me Or Are Plats A Big Money Drainer If You Dont Spend Thousands...???

Opening locked crates is a gamble, and like all gambles, the house usually wins... I open the odd one here and there but most people get junk all or most of the time. Only open crates if you understand it's a gamble and that you will likely get nothing

In saying that, plat itself is not a waste of time. These plat purchasable pet crates (except the last one) have been a good money spinner (15plat each selling for around up to 50k), or as many do you can buy ankhs or respec kits and sell them in the auction house. Or, wait for an event and buy energy to sell, or wait til a mythic pet is available in egg form (like Abaddon recently) and stock up and sell them.. lots of ways to convert plat into gold!

I hammered away at a few free offers and managed to open my first ever 4 locks.....for 2ks and a trash legendary
The lesson here is i have never been lucky and i know i never will be, so i don't take the chance at all

yesterday my friend opened 20 locks and he got samuel in his 10th lock and maridos in his 20th lock...he is a twink so try opening locks at low levels

Maybe this works.. it says best gear for ur lvl, most arcane items (eggs,shard etc) are lv1 so try making lv1 toon

it is all luck one lvl15 guildie got a sam egg on 3lock where a lvl16 guildie opened over 100locks and got no arcane and 5ethyl eggs wkwk

When I have plats and need gold I buy 10x 50% xp kits and sell them they go fast and sell for a decent amount

You can make a lot of gold with plat but opening locked with it is one of the worst ways to do it. Selling kits/vanities/pets that are plat purchased are the best.

What you did was take your whole paycheck and spend it in a casino. You may win big but most likely you will leave broke.

I wouldnt if i were you. Locks are always a big disapointment. Only reason you should spend real money is if you are rich in real life and money isnt an issue

Chances at mythics or arcanes are equal for all lvls. Opening at low lvls will make 0 difference

I wasted $200 on plat during a plat sale for 0 mythics. Somebody i know opened 15k plat worth of locks for a like 3 mythics. Lesson learned, locks are a scam. Spend your plat on guaranteed returns; ie, mythic eggs, luck kits, egg crates, ankhs, etc.. Since i started doin that ive been much happier because no dissapointment and I know how much gold Ill get in advance.

i find that with platinum .. you can't buy good premium stuff in the store which is quite nab.. most good item are luck base and drops on crates

I would say they are complete waste of platinum, opened a quite a few myself this weekend..

However they're also ppl who are able to loot fossils/arcane shards/arcane eggs by popping just a few and make more money than u probably will in an year. Just kinda makes u lose all faith in this game. I've played pl for 2 years and now arcane legends yet i still feel sts has an extremely broken loot/randomizing system.

it kinda depicts ur luck in a way that it will remain stagnant forever, if u are unlucky u will remain unlucky. Sad to say even though i have a alot of experience with sts i was still tempted to throw away my plat at locks. I will not make this mistake again.
