Default Order and Chaos is better. Here's Why.

PL: For those that want a quick raid fix.

OaC: For those that like seing there damage numbers go crazy and unlock lots of skills and play for hours.

Now here's why I think OaC is better over all:

First off I have played PL for about 6 months. I love that game, but PL is gonna have to step up its game now.

    1. Graphics: They are a lot better than PL and to top it off, I have had a smoother experience on OaC too, framerate is better.

    2. Way more skills and talents. There is a scrolling "skill bar" and it holds 6 skills. Next to it is a bar with 10 skill slots that can be hidden with a tap of the skill bar (and easily opened with another tap)

Over 44 skills per class. 44!

    3. Customization: With so many skills, people will specialize and we will see a lot more different types of players in game. 4 races, 4 classes, 2 specializations per class (you can choose to specialize in both!)

    4. Payment:$6. Then only $1 a month BUT YOU GET THE FIRST 3 MONTHS FREE. Gameloft promises to update often (we will have to see about this one). Can buy a 6 month sub for $3 (50 cents per month!)

    5. Quests: They are alot better on OaC. One of them had me escorting people and defending them from assassins! Another had me infiltrate a boat to kill a pirate leader. More variety here than PL and the quests feel like Adventures, unlike PL's fetch quests.

    7. OPEN WORLD. THIS GAME IS HUGE! Took me about 10 minutes to walk from a map section to another and the whole time i was doing quests along the way-kept things interesting on the trek. (You dont have to do the quests-can just run to the other town, ect)

    8. GUILDS!!!!! You can see who's online and have GUILD CHAT ROOMS

    9. Chat: There's Global chat, Party Chat, Guild Chat, Local Chat. If you dont want one in your chat feed, you can block the others.

    10. Open world PVP (dueling) and 5 player instances (from what I have seen so far, don't know if this is the max).
Just found out that there is a dedicated PVP arena!

    11. Pets. <3 I currently have a cute little snow wolf following me around. Dont worry it does nothing in combat so there isnt a balance issue. BUT WHAT IT DOES DO IS ROLL ON ITS BACK AND SHAKE ITS PAWS IN THE AIR <3 Also, you can buy these pets with the in game currency

    IN APP PURCHASES
You dont need anything besides the subscription. Gameloft only included the ability to buy gold with real money to (make money, duh) basically stop 3rd parties from farming gold and selling it to users (big issue on WoW). Very smart move on gameloft. And you dont need to buy any gold, you earn a good amount in game.

If you have any questions about the game feel free to ask!

PL is really going to have to step up there game now. Can't wait to see how this mmo battle turns out. Competition is a good thing! Forces people to do better jobs!

Ack, stop before you convince me to download! I'm trying to wait it out till I can get a better idea of Gameloft's maintenance of the game, etc.

You can also buy a 6 month subscription for $3. That's $.50 a month. When it comes to gameplay value/money, OaC wins in the long run.

Subscription is only part of the deal. They are selling gold and runs (no idea what they are for atm). I already purchased it but I am not going to say its better I just hope gameloft can keep their promise on updates unlike all their other games.

I like the skills tree though to bad no rouge as far as I saw only a hunter.

There are castles and buildings you enter to kill bosses and do other things like collect materiels for crafting, ect. As for dungeons like in wow, I havent run into any that are as big.

Im only level 13. Max Level is 60 atm. So I still have a long way to go.

You dont need to buy anything else besides subscription to play this game. Runes are for vanity items like pets. As for buying gold, you can just earn gold in game by killing monsters and doing quests. The money system is the same thing as wow's

    100 bronze coins= 1 Silver coin
    100 Silver coins= 1 gold

Gameloft has historically bad maintenance of their copied-from-other-game-studios games, their forums suck, and yeah...good luck with customer support (although that part is hearsay).

With that said, I may check it out. It may be worth the price of a couple of LesBurgers

You say pets are vanity items. That means they don't add any stats or offer any other benefit, like they do in DD? Bc if they're like DD pets, they're most definitely NOT vanity items.

Pets do nothing but follow you around and look adorable. Panda cub anyone?
Or perhaps a cute wolf puppy

Thanks a lot for the thoughtful write-up Longsteak. Really good write-up btw.

I agree: Skill trees, open world, several chat channels and full-on quests are big improvements from PL.

    G8 f-b but I wait for B* only.

    Btw: Barca 1(2 now)-0 Real...

    It's apples to oranges, really.

OaC is Wifi only. PL plays on Edge just fine.

OaC is subscription/microtrans model with upfront cost. PL is free to play.

OaC is like almost 600 MB game. PL is a fraction of that size.

OaC has some hefty phone requirements. PL plays on tons of phones and older iOS devices.

OaC seems to me to be for those who like WoW but don't have a gaming computer and only a phone. You can't play it on the go, so why not just play WoW or your other favorite PC MMO?

Still, it looks to be a fun experience. In the short term, it's free advertisement for us, since anyone evaluating OaC is probably going to compare it to Pocket Legends. We wish Gameloft all the best with it.

Pets include: Panda Cub, Wolf Puppy and little skeleton creature thingy
Hope I'd have enough willpower not to buy one
If they ever make a dragon or gryphon one, it will be harder to resist.

Als may be right, while OaC is definitely your miniature WoW, it requires a lot from people compared to PL. I think PL will stay the casual mmo that can be played anywhere, with bigger elements for those who want a little more.

Some features will naturally be better, but in terms of graphics, sounds, basic dungeon-crawling... I prefer for my Mobile PL much more. Plus I never liked wow. For my PC I will be playing

As of now OaC runs great on jailbroken devices that force the device to use 3g. So it is 3g capable, If Gameloft is smart, they will update this and make it a normal feature.

PL is not free for the full experience. I have spent about $20 in the past 6 months on new areas and pvp arenas alone. OaC has PvP and and a lot more areas than PL at its launch! (OaC's launch i mean)
