What is "insurance?" (Pertaining to AL)

I've seen a few threads in Trader's market where people are asking or offering insurance for an item? What does that mean..?

Usually with para gem deals you'll give the item you want para gemmed to the seller of the para gem and they will give the worth of the item in gold to the buyer. I imagine that's what they mean by insurance

Yup, makes the buyer of the para gem feel more secure throughout the trade but well said max
