Most likely if they do change energy kits they will still allow you to use up your current ones. Sort of like when they made the switch from gems to jewels and locked grand crates of the watch to ren gol crates. So even if they do change the energy kits it doesn't mean you wont be able to use the energy kits you have. That would be unfair.

It's true that since essences are no longer dropping, energy won't be craftable in exactly the same way it has been in the past. But my feeling is that existing energy will still be useable, as Oden says. I'm always suspicious of people claiming to have secret inside knowledge about future events; it's likely they have their own agenda as Titanium alluded to!
It is a risk, however, I'm keeping my energy kits.
They were probably talking about altars... in a good party / guild farming altars id so fast u barely have time for energy kits = less people will buy energy kits (because they don't need and everyone has a lot of crafted ones left over from goblin) = energy kits don't really go up in price that much.
