    Unhappy What happened to AL...

I honestly feel sad about this game.
Shouldn't the rarity "Arcane" mean something like... -> ULTRA SPECIAL and UNIQUE?

I hate it when i enter Expedition Camp and 90% of this map.. are filled with Arcane Ring and Nekro users.
    It will even get worse.
Arcane clearly isn't meant to be developed that everyone in this game has it.
Looks like it's time to add a new Rarity, above Arcane? lol.
"Arcane" seems like the new "Legendary", and "Legendary" is like.. "Common".

What do you guys think? Is it okay for you how it is now?
Nowadays, people get called noob because they cant afford Nekro/Arcane Ring.
Is it really meant to be like that?

Yes, and this is what pi**es me off.
A LOT of people worked their as*es off to finally reach the gold to buy an item of Arcane Rarity.
And now new players come in the game, dont know anything about the mechanics of this game and their class, and can easily buy Arcane pets for 1m.

    Wanted to share something:

While doing Ursoth Event, i noticed some Rogue with Samael who obviously didnt know HOW to CHARGE A SKILL.
I told him it would be more efficient if he charges his Aimed shot / packs whatever.
He was confused, didn't know what "charging" actually means, so i explained it to him.

Do you get my point? Arcane Rogue who doesn't know how to charge his Aimed Shot?

Um, charging aimed shot isn't an efficient use of the skill, outside of PvP. Packs shouldn't be used in PvE. No offense, but I think you should doing some brushing up on things yourself before you call out someone else.

Personally, I think the game was about to die before prices dropped. They might be too low now (not saying they are), but they were way too high before.

    Well...

This game used to be very small and very limited (when I first Lv 21 was the max level) and now it's getting bigger and expanding... New maps... More stuff... ETC.....

it's true that lots of people have nekro and arcane ring, but everything has an eventual replacement date... Just like when a certain iphone or something first comes out it costs like an ARM and a LEG, but eventually that same product becomes cheaper than dirt and more obtainable by the people who couldn't obtain it at first all due to the ANTICIPATION of the next best thing..... It would not make sense for the arcane ring and nekro pet to be EXTREMELY DIFFICULT to get for ever when new stuff that comes out will be better.... Only way would be for them to keep buffing nekro and ring and that would sort of make it a 1 and done item to obtain.... People would be bored with the game because if they keep buffing the pets and items to keep up with the expansions players would HAVE nothing new to work towards.....

Haha, yes never charge skills as a rogue. This is not what the class is for. In a big mob, you target the most threatening one like a mage and take him out spamming all attacks and let you mage take care of the lesser ones. Charging AS just lowers your crit chance and ultimately your bonus damage chance. Only charge in PVP for sniper shots. I only charge veil or razor shield for obvious reasons.

As for the price of things, this is the price they should have been without billionaire controls. The average player can have Arcane via token system. Uber expensive items are now vanities and event gems. It's fine the way it is.

Nekro and Arcane ring made endgame pvp unavailable for the average player because without either, you're dead. Now at least it's easier to afford to be on the same level.

I think that sts wants us to gear better for the elites that will come out soon.
Yes,Arcanes are pretty common right now,and that is a good thing.
Now,that arcanes finally don't cost an inimaginable amount of money anymore, everyone can have a chance at arcanes without having to spend money in the game or by playing 24/24.
There are many new players coming in the game right now (probably 10 new players came into Arlor since you start reading this comment), and seeing that arcanes are affordable, they say :"Meh,if i farm hard enough i can get that arcane item!".But back when arcane prices were bigger than the Burj-khalifa, they said :"Holy moly,i'm never going to be able to get good items! I'm done with this game!"

And the arcane ring will become pretty much useless when the elites come out...Because the same thing happened to the old Mythic armor when the Imbued sets came out...

Now,with so many new players, AL is getting back on the road.Hopefully we will see a new "Best mobile MMO banner" soon enough!

I agree with everything the OP says. The funny thing is that when AL first began (during seasons 1 & 2), Legendary was supposed to be the rare items. When they became far too common during season 2 after the introduction locked crates, many of us began to complain that we wanted some more exclusive items, so shortly afterwards mythic and arcane items were introduced. And during seasons 3 & 4, mythic were somewhat exclusive and arcane were very rare. But as time has gone on, that has changed.

Unfortunately this is a necessary evil due to AL being a profit making game and a business. This is marketing 101.... You introduce something super rare, people then want it really bad, demand grows out of control, prices get really high, and then you slash prices and increase supply, and then everyone runs out and buys one. In the end, 90% of those who buy end up not happy because it's no longer an exclusive item anymore, which was the main draw in the first place.

So what's the solution? Add another tier of even more rare items. And it looks like STS is sort of doing that with the new "gold" tier stuff, although so far there seems to be no difference between the two gold tier pets and their regular versions, other than looks. I suspect that may change in the future.

Another theory I have is that STS felt that the game was somewhat broken during seasons 3 & 4 when those with mythic and arcane items held such a huge advantage over those with legendary items. So they have now made everything more common. So then what is the elite player left to accomplish? The answer is jewels. Many players have commented that trying to get a noble jewel is almost impossible, or really really expensive. I think that is by design. So in the future, the super elite player who has superb or noble jewels in all of his jewel slots will hold a statistical advantage over the player who has lower level jewels. And since many players will be running around with all 6 equipment items being arcane or mythic, that means you have 18 jewel slots. So having better jewels starts to add up really quick.

So yes, when you walk into town you see multiple nekros and toors running around multiple players with arcane rings and mythic weapons. But if you stop to examine their stats, you will notice that the elite few have significantly better stats than the others. Those are the players with the better gems/jewels, and that will be what motivates us to better our gear in future seasons.

I do agree that some of the sense of accomplishment is missing in that jewels are not visible to other players. I can remember completing my mythic set back in season 4 and everyone always saying "nice set" when you walked into town. Now that doesn't happen anymore. But STS can still release very rare and exclusive vanity items and that can fill that prestige gap that is now missing. And so can leaderboard banners.

I think overall this is a much better approach to the game and makes the playing field more even in PvP and among the entire player base.

I am surprised with how many people feel the way the OP does. How is a game fun when the best gear is only obtainable if you drop thousands of dollars of real life money? I think the way AL is currently is for the better. Even the best arcane can be purchased with some real farming. This is how MMO's are meant to be. The people who don't feel "special" anymore need to get a life. The real thing is these people are no longer OP, they need to have skill now. I've noticed that many of the top players never say these types of things because it it their skill that makes them "special". I am not pro by any means but I am glad with the current system. A level playing field is always the best. Now let's get some better class balance instead of 50 mil+ arcane prices.

I'm still road tripping so this going to be fast. I also am frustrated by top gear and no skill trust me it's in my guild. Many of the new players don't know how to run.

It's up to the veterans to step up here and stop qq and train them up. Stay tuned, we are going to do exactly this within my own guild.

It is what it is, but the best way to rectify the mistakes people are making is by taking the time to assist and teach people how to play.

And no I don't want to pay 50m for arcane!!! Who does? Nobody.

Socialism looks great on paper but when applied is a train wreck. It makes everyone average and lessens desire to work hard.

Let's stay out of politics and stick to the game.

Just a quick rejoinder because I can't help myself. Social Security and Medicare are socialist programs. I don't think they make people lazy. I think they provide a safety net and keep people from falling into poverty, which ends up being more expensive for everyone.

I think passing on wealth for generations on end lessens desire to work hard, but that's just me.

It was a metaphor, if everyone can easily get top gear nobody will buy plat and the economy and the game itself (who do you think pays for the game to continue operation) will cease to exist.

Hard work or money spent should be rewarded. Not everyone and their mother who has the game for a week. And trust me those moms and grandmas don't need an arcane wheelchair just yet.
