    Default steps to a paladin?

ok so I just started playing last night and Im about lvl 7, and Im not getting when I should start being a paladin? Do I start now, or should I wait until around lvl 20-30. Also if someone could tell me at what lvl do I need a certain amount of stats, that would help?

add azulpally, and I will teach you what I know.

also, I would like to know more, so please help us both. and no, the dual-spec guide by elly did NOT answer my questions.

best thing to do is to stay a int mage until lv45. at 45, you can get the amazing isis and thoth gear that give pallys their amazing m/s power. also, at 45 it is much easier to find lv10-35 booster gear to go 50/50 on int and str.

Arterra is 110% correct, follow the advice and save yourself a bunch of headache later on, otherwise you'll slow down your progression and waste a bunch of gold and plat for little to no result.

    +1

At lower levels, the survivability of a pure int isn't too bad as enemies don't really hit as hard. Use a wand and bracer where appropriate. You won't do as much damage as a pally early on and hence won't level as rapidly. It's only when you start to get to Alien Oasis and encounter aliens (especially the ones with the blasters) that survivability becomes a big issue.

ok so two questions, 1. I have seen people saying that you should get the recommended pally skills to lvl 5 and others say go to lvl 6
    2. Is there a certain pattern that I should do for the skill lvl for example first get lvl 5 heal then get lvl 2 ice storm and so on?

Well, those posts that say go to level 5, did you check when they were written? Up until this feb, max skill level was only 5.

yep best thing to max out (as in lv6) is heal. that way you can go crazy against mobs and not spend so much on health pots, or need to worry about h/s gear (just m/s gear. alot).
after that, i would say the buffs. maximum armor and crit is a good way to make your pally more of a tank and able to dish out damage.
then, probably the basics. lightning, firestorm, the debuffs, etc.

the only things you dont want maxed out at all are mana shield (a whole skill point for that little armor ?) and revive (the hidden 1m/s bonus makes up for the cost of casting anyway). the ice powers depend purely on you, since one point on each helps you combo with fire or helps bears combo with stomp. (i use the aoe ice to combo with fire, and i time my icebolts with bears to shatter bosses.)
