Official end date of the winter event

Ok, so I really need to know what the end date for the winter tier event will be, so I can plan and budget my time. Ik this will help a lot of ppl if I can get a dev/mod confirmation of the end date. So far I've heard that it ends on Christmas, the 31st, or after 4 weeks, and we are really in the dark here. Thanks and merry Christmas everyone!

Said to be finished by January 4th or 5th when STS gets back from their break.
